Founded in 1993, Alexandra Book Publishing has evolved and today consists not only of Alexandra Publishing and Alexandra Bookstores, but also of other smaller publishers, and has become a distinctive player in the book market. Until 2009, it published almost 500 books a year. In 2009, it had 14 stores in Budapest and 74 in the countryside. In the beginning, it mainly published storybooks, albums, and educational books, and then expanded its range to include exclusive albums. In recent years, in addition to the greats of Hungarian literary life (curator of the estate of György Faludy), he has published books by many talented young writers. In one of his bookstores at Nyugati tér 7, the Alexandra Pódium operates with the Vámos Club, and in the other, at Károly körút 3/C, he has set up a Literary Café. Readers can meet people from the cultural scene at its free events.
